Observation To Impact: Summer Reset
“I knew it would be bad,
BUT NOT THIS BAD.”
If those words hit close to home, this summer is your
window to make sure that they never hit again.
Only 5 spots available. Sessions run June 1– July 10. Must be secured by June 10.
The Reality...
The data came in. And it hurt.
Many schools entered testing season believing classrooms were more instructionally aligned than they actually were. These are not hypothetical reactions. These are real words from real school leaders after the Spring 2026 math state testing results arrived:
“This is depressing.”
“I feel sick.”
“The kids might as well have taken the test blind.”
You observed math classrooms all year. You provided feedback for all and next steps for some. You trusted the process. And still, the data told a different story than what you saw during observations.
What most leaders do not realize is that despite the fact that every leader on the team is using the same observation form, teachers often receive competing information about how to deliver high-quality math instruction. Because without a shared language and a calibrated system, observations can only be used to document teachers, not develop them.
The observation form can not do its job if your leadership team isn't looking at the same thing.
When leadership teams do not share a clear observation lens, schools often spend the year reacting to assessment data instead of proactively identifying gaps through observational evidence. Informal observations are the most powerful lever you have. They're low-stakes, high-frequency, and entirely within your control. This summer is your chance to build the system that makes them work, before August locks you in and May 2027 arrives faster than you think.
Who is this for?
Your leadership team (you define who that includes).
This session is built for the people who share the responsibility of math achievement in your building.
✓ Principals who are accountable for math scores but don't have a shared system to monitor instructional quality between formal evaluations.
✓ Assistant Principals who want to give feedback that compounds instead of resetting with each visit.
✓ Instructional Coaches who are tired of the cycle:
observe → give feedback → nothing changes → scores stay stagnant → repeat.
✓ Leadership Teams who want to walk into August 2026 with a Q1 plan to ensure the delivery of high-quality math instruction in every class across your entire school.
What leadership teams consistently observe, discuss, and reinforce
becomes the instructional priority across classrooms.
What’s Included?
One 90-minute work session with four deliverables:
Observation System Audit
Get an outside expert's eyes on your current class observation system to identify what's working well, missteps, and blind spot. You'll receive a customized audit of your observation approach before attending so that your session is reserved for solutions, not exploration.
Leadership Alignment Priority Map
A structured process to ensure observers across your leadership team prioritize the same instructional evidence during classroom visits.
Student Reasoning Evidence Framework
A concrete tool tied to your priorities that helps your team identify the difference between compliance (students following steps) and reasoning (students understanding why) to catch instructional breakdowns before they snowball into achievement gaps.
Q1 Instructional Monitoring Guide
Weekly actions to ensure that every math teacher receives actionable feedback tied to student reasoning during Quarter 1, so your team isn't starting from scratch in August.
How does it work?
Your Roadmap From Registration to Results:
⚫Step 1 — Schedule a 20-minute informational call
We will discuss if this session is a right fit for your team. If so, we will also select a date and time that works for your leadership team’s Summer Reset. All sessions are virtual.
⚫Step 2 — Complete the pre-session survey
Your team shares information about your current observation system. All responses will be used to build your customized session around the instructional priorities of your school
⚫Step 3 — Attend your 90-minute reset session
This is a working session, not a prepackaged presentation. Your team leaves with four tangible deliverables that directly aid in the implementation of your shared vision for Q1.
⚫Step 4 — Walk into August aligned
Your Q1 Monitoring Guide is already built and your team has a shared vision of high-quality mathematics in your building.
May 2027 will look different because August 2026 is built different, but only if you build the system now.
Testimonials
Here's What Leaders Are Saying:
"This session reignited a desire to put egos and feelings aside to center work around student understanding and sense making. I look forward to seeking out new strategies to collaborate with peers to further that goal."
K. Richardson, Middle School Instructional Coach
"Coach Kasha has a very grounded, insightful take on how to self-reflect and tackle basic misconceptions. She truly helps leaders evaluate their instructional practice to maximize impact for students."
E. Thompson, Elementary Principal
"This session is perfect for urging a 2-degree shift in instructional practice. If a leader implements just 1 of these ideas, the outcome for students will definitely be improved, and the trajectory of the department overall will be set to new heights. Great session!"
J. Martinez, High School Assistant Principal
Meet Your Coach: Nakasha Kirkland
Hi! I understand the challenges of supporting math instruction when class observations aren’t producing real change. Since 2018, I’ve partnered with school leaders to build observation systems that develop math teachers, not just document them. With my approach, school leaders bridge the gap between planning, teaching, and the kind of observations that build teacher capacity and fosters a culture of achievement.
